What is COMFYLOCK?
COMFYLOCK is an anti-theft device designed for vehicles with an electronic gear stick known as a “joystick” or “shift-by-wire”. COMFYLOCK is a gearbox immobiliser, making it impossible to change the position of the stick, which effectively rules out unauthorised use of the vehicle. To deactivate the lock, use a phone app, a bluetooth key fob or a pre-determined emergency sequence.

How does COMFYLOCK protect my car?
If an unwanted person gets into a car with COMFYLOCK installed and manages to start the vehicle, our device will prevent the stick from changing its position, preventing any movement of the vehicle.

COMFYLOCK Operation
COMFYLOCK is activated when the ignition is turned off and the car is closed. At this point, the gearbox is electronically locked and the stick position cannot be changed without authorisation. There are three methods to authorise and control COMFYLOCK. Phone app, key fob or emergency sequence.

COMFYLOCK App
One method of deactivating the lock is the dedicated COMFYLOCK app, available for mobile devices. The app is protected by an eight-digit PIN code. Once the app has been set up and paired with COMFYLOCK, it is necessary to allow the app to run in the background. From that moment on, every time the vehicle is started, the device will automatically connect to the app and deactivate the lock.

Bluetooth Key Fob
Depending on the version of the device selected, 2 Bluetooth fobs configured for the device may be included. The lock is released when the device detects a signal transmitted by the fob. This means that you only need to have the Bluetooth fob with you to unlock the device and authorisation will happen automatically.

Can I use the key fob and the app at the same time?
Yes, it is possible to deactivate the COMFYLOCK lock interchangeably with the key fob or the app, simultaneously.

Can I install COMFYLOCK lock myself?
The installation of the immobiliser must be carried out by a specialist in the field of electronics or car mechanics. Installation is only carried out by COMFYLOCK partner services.

Does COMFYLOCK interfere with my vehicle’s electrical installation?
No. The installation of COMFYLOCK is completely non-invasive and does not affect the original vehicle components. The installation is based on a plug and play system. This means that the original plug is used for installation. This eliminates the need to cut or solder cables.

Does fitting COMFYLOCK in the vehicle affect car’s warranty?
No, thanks to the non-invasive installation method, installing COMFYLOCK does not in any way affect or void the vehicle manufacturer’s guarantee. What’s more, the installation of our device can have a beneficial effect on your vehicle’s insurance.

Can COMFYLOCK generate errors in the car’s on-board computer?
No, by connecting the device to the vehicle’s original harness, COMFYLOCK installation does not result in generating any errors.

Is it necessary to interfere with the vehicle’s electrical installation in order to install the COMFYLOCK? (Cutting and soldering of cables)
No, COMFYLOCK installation leaves the electrical installation intact.

Is it possible to switch gear after connecting via OBD (On-Board Diagnostics)?
This is not possible. By filtering the data, COMFYLOCK blocks the signals sent by the OBD to the gearbox.

Can the Bluetooth signal be intercepted by a thief in order to deactivate the lock?
Intercepting the Bluetooth signal from the app will not unlock the immobiliser as an eight-digit pin code is required to do so.
Intercepting the Bluetooth signal from the key fob is virtually impossible. The key fobs are equipped with an accelerometer, which switches off the power to the key fob two minutes after the last movement made, thus ceasing to transmit a signal. In addition, the key fobs have a short distance range (about 3m in an open field) making it impossible to intercept the signal

What if I have purchased a vehicle with COMFYLOCK installed?
When we purchase a vehicle with COMFYLOCK installed, we can operate the vehicle with the Bluetooth fobs supplied. It is possible to reset the settings of our lock, at an authorised COMFYLOCK dealer. There, we will either reset the eight-digit PIN code for the application or retrofit the lock with two, new Bluetooth key fobs. This will ensure that only you have access to the device.

Will the COMFYLOCK app work on my phone?
The app is compatible with all iOS or Android phones.

Why is it not possible to change the PIN code for an application?
Each COMFYLOCK creates a unique PIN code for your device. This code must be original and complex to minimise the chance of unlocking by third parties. The PIN code is sent to the app when you first connect and remains unchangeable.

Do I have to manually switch on the app before every car journey?
To avoid having to switch on the app before every vehicle start, you should have Bluetooth on your phone at all times and allow the app to run in the background. If these conditions are met, the app will automatically deactivate the lock each time you start the car.

Can I connect more mobile devices to one COMFYLOCK?
The immobiliser allows you to pair with any number of devices. This means that your vehicle can also be used by people authorised by you. All they need to do is install the COMFYLOCK app and enter their unique eight-digit PIN code into it.

What if I don’t have my phone with me or the battery dies?
The device has an emergency unlock function. The moment we forget our mobile device or it is not working, we can deactivate the lock with an emergency sequence of six movements of the gear stick. These sequences can be set and changed as desired in the COMFYLOCK app.

How does the COMFYLOCK connect to my phone?
The app connects to the lock using the latest Bluetooth technology. In order to connect the app to the lock, you must install the COMFYLOCK app and enable Bluetooth connection on your phone.

What if I have to take my COMFYLOCK vehicle in for servicing?
COMFYLOCK has a “service mode” function. This can be activated in the app at any time. The function allows you to deactivate the lock up to a point in time of your choice. You can deactivate the lock during servicing and then reactivate it from the app when you pick up your vehicle.

What if I want to lend my COMFYLOCK car to someone else?
There are several possibilities to allow others to use our vehicle. The first is to provide an emergency unlock sequence. Once the car is recovered, the sequence can be changed from within the app. It is also possible to provide the person with a Bluetooth key fob or disable the lock via the “service mode”, but please note that the vehicle will then not be protected against theft as the lock will not be active.

What is included and contained in the original box with COMFYLOCK?
The lock is packaged in a tasteful and secure box. Inside you will find instructions for setting up the application and a warranty card with the serial number of the device, the date of installation as well as the name and stamp of the representative carrying out the installation. Depending on the version, the box may also contain two unique Bluetooth key fobs and an emergency unlock sequence for the device in a laminated envelope.

How does the Bluetooth key fob work?
The key fob controlled lock activates when the vehicle is turned off and locked. The lock deactivates automatically when a signal emitted by the Bluetooth fob is detected.

How many key fobs will I find in the lock box?
Included with COMFYLOCK you will find two unique Bluetooth fobs configured for your device.

What if i lose my Bluetooth fob?
If necessary, additional Bluetooth fobs can be purchased and configured for the lock via the app. In addition, the lock can be deactivated using the emergency unlock sequence.
